Hike and Fly is more than just a paragliding race—it's a high-adrenaline mountain adventure set in the wild beauty of Slovenia, where athletes from around the world push their limits across rugged trails, alpine ridges, and open skies.
This unique event blends hiking and paragliding into one demanding discipline that requires technical skill, physical endurance, and sharp strategy. Competitors must hike to designated take-off points, fly through pre-set waypoints, and land as efficiently as possible—all while reading the weather, the terrain, and their own limits in real time. Every decision—when to hike, when to fly, when to rest—can change the course of the race.
The Slovenian landscape, with its lush valleys, jagged peaks, and ever-shifting conditions, makes each edition unpredictable and unforgettable. A true test for those who fly, a thrill for those who watch, and a chance to tell stories born on the ground and lifted by the wind.
The following photographs document my adventure alongside Aaron Durogati, Red Bull athlete and one of the world’s top hike and fly pilots. It was a journey through climbs, take-offs, and breathtaking views — lived side by side with his team, between strategy, effort, and the absolute freedom of flight.
